$315 Billion and Counting...

Here’s a thought:
Conservatives don’t like the idea of giving handouts to poor single mothers working 80 hours a week, living in slums and trying desperately to keep their children from getting killed in the streets, but now that we’ve done Iraq the hugely expensive favor of deposing their brutal dictator, conservatives want us to stay there and spend billions of dollars a month refereeing an ancient duel between a bunch of ridiculous fucking tribes while building an infrastucture that would be the envy of Detroit’s inner city. What the fuck happened to letting people fend for themselves? Where is your precious social Darwinism now? How about we give OUR working poor a goddamned raise in the minimum wage or some health insurance, or some better schools, or some safer fucking streets before we go around blowing our wad in A-ssbackwards-RABIA!
Any idea what $315 billion and counting could have accomplished in our own backyard, Georgie?
You could have given every American $1050!
Better yet, you could have given every uninsured American $3600 to buy some heatlh insurance (and still had $147.6 billion left over)! You could have doled out $9843.75 to every U.S. household that makes less than $25,000 a year! Dennis Koslowski could have bought over 52 million shower curtains! (How will he clean his big fat ass without all those $6000 shower curtains?)
Instead, we’re paying approximately $6,562,500 for each civilian casualty in Iraq. Instead, we’re paying approximately $11,740,588.93 for each dead American soldier.
Instead, we’re paying approximately $152,468,538.24 for every day that George W. Bush is President of the United States of America.
